Public servants urged to support National Development Charter

Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Stephen Isaboke has urged public servants to take an active role in communi cating Government programmes and development opportunities ahead of the launch of the National Conversation on the National Development Charter.

The charter will be laun ched by H.E. President Dr. to Kenyans. William Ruto tomorrow. PS Isaboke made the remarks when he convened a meeting with Heads of Departments in the State Department for Broad casting and Telecommunications to reflect on the development taking place across the country and the Government programmes currently being implemented.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the departmental heads to review the progress being made under various Government initiatives in the sector and consider how public servants can better communicate these interventions and the opportunities they present.

“Effective public com munication is central to ensuring that citizens are well informed about Government programmes, available opportunities and ways in which they can participate in the country‘s development journey,” he noted. 

 The PS emphasised that public servants have a responsibility to understand Government policies, pro grammes and interventions within their respective areas of work and communicate them accurately and effec tively to the communities they serve.

In a different event, the PS donated 200 computers to public institutions in Homa Bay County.

The computers, donated through the State Department of ICT, will expand access to digital services and strengthen ICT capacity in schools, community centres and government offices.

“This donation is part of our broader plan to ensure that every county benefit from digital transformation.

By equipping institutions with modern devices, we are opening up opportu nities for training, innova tion, and improved access to government services, Isaboke said. The PS emphasized the centrality of technology in education, service delivery and economk growth.

He added that the government is determined to ensure that no region is left behind.
